There are loads of keyboard shortcuts in ARCHICAD and getting to know some of them can certainly increase your productivity… but a few are more complicated to remember and not used as often than others.  The ones we will outline in this article are ones you can potentially use ALL the time and are very, very simple!

If you work regularly with Structural Steel components and exchange data with Structural software using IFC - you might find it useful to use the Standard Profiles for Columns and Beams that are available within ARCHICAD.

Mouse Wheel

One of the features that is used constantly in ARCHICAD is the zooming and panning function of the Mouse Wheel. It might seem second nature and you probably don’t think about it… but do you know ALL the functions it performs?

Don’t have a Mouse with a Wheel? You need to get one, now!

"Edgewood researched for a 3D based modeling software to further our client driven business model. One pleasant surprise after investing in ARCHICAD, is the support that BIM6x has provided over the years. BIM6x training programs and technical assistance have made the transition of architectural software seamless."

ARCHICAD has been the primary software in my architectural practice for over a decade. I am continuously impressed by the powerful solution ARCHICAD offers for the design process from early design through construction. I love that I never need to “dumb-down” my virtual designs at any point along the way! The power of the virtual model is incredible through every stage of the project and it is especially helpful for many clients who otherwise struggle with visualization of their project.
