What are your
current applications?

Are you currently using multiple softwares to complete your projects from conceptual design to construction documents?
> Most architects do not realize the cost of learning, maintaining, and duplicating efforts in multiple softwares.
> Many architects do not choose their BIM software based upon their actual needs and workflows.
> Architects often find their software vendors only provide software and maybe some training services.

CAD/BIM Management

Do you have
a BIM Manager?
Chris Clark, BIM Solution manager, BIM6x
> This person should be responsible for new staff on boarding and upskilling of existing staff and updating your office standards.
> They should keep your office standards current as well as updating your BIM Manual.

Improve coordination with the engineer and other consultants

Take advantage of your software solution
When was the last time you overhauled your CAD/BIM template?
Your template should…

Streamline your workflow so you spend less time managing software and more time designing

Help reduce errors and omissions

Allow for easy onboarding of new staff or when outsourcing work

As-builts

“

Having used Revit and Archicad extensively, I can without hesitation say that Archicad is BIM for architects. The ease of workflow from pre-design to schematic design to construction documents makes it ideal. There are so many time saving features. The fact that I can collaborate globally with minimal setup and that I can create anything my imagination comes up with is a great benefit to my architectural practice.
David Clayton, AIA – President, DEIV Architecture
How are you currently creating as-built drawings/models for your remodel projects?
> We find it surprising that many architects are still using a tape measure.
> There are incredible tools and applications to improve the creation of as-builts.
> Some architects outsource everything from scan to the BIM model.
> Others use scanners or camera app’s to create the scan and then outsource the modeling.
> And a relative few have begun to use cost effective solutions that provide a BIM model right from their phone scan and delivered in their native BIM application format.

This could be “scan to CAD/BIM”, rendering/animation/VR, drafting, modeling, etc
Outsourcing
Have you considered outsourcing certain stages of your projects either within the US or abroad?
We often find clients either have not taken advantage of this opportunity or were not prepared/set up and gave up after the first project
Successful outsourcing is accomplished when expectations from both parties are set up before the start of the project

Architects need to understand where outsourcing can fit into their workflows and assess what kind of person/team and location they need

Simply put, we love Archicad. I haven't heard our friends in the industry use that word in reference to their software.

Facility Management & Digital Twin

Are you currently offering your clients services beyond construction?
By 2030, digital twin tools could become a standard part of architectural workflows, particularly as IoT integration and client demand for "smart buildings" increase.
Many architects have not explored the business opportunity in extending their services in some capacity into FM and/or Digital Twin.

Collaboration
Are you looking to work with other like-minded professionals?
> Most architects chose their BIM solution based upon their engineers/consultants choice of solution.
> Workflows between architects and consultants are often not streamlined even when using the same solution.
“
As the complexity of our designs have increased, Archicad has proven to be the tool that allows us to work through our designs in 3D, then allows us to provide documents that demonstrate our design intent.
