When you are working in large complex model with a lot of details, you sometimes want to edit a ‘type of element’. For example, you may select a bunch of elements and data on a floor plan but want to do something simple like change the color of the Dimension text or the font used on Zone names.
Rather than try to filter out the correct elements - leave the selection active and then simply double click on the appropriate Tool.
In the example below there is a large area of the model selected (641 elements!) - but if you double click on the Dimension Tool you will see there are in fact only 16 Dimensions which are editable:
This can save considerable time in selecting / de-selecting / re-selecting etc. All you do is select a big area then use the appropriate Tool to filter out what you need. _
